At Mighty Minds - Montessori House of Children, we are dedicated to offering a rich Montessori-based education within a nurturing and inclusive environment, serving as a second home to our children. Operating from 8am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, we accommodate up to 24 children with 5 teachers, providing an intimate setting that guarantees personalised attention and fosters a close-knit community atmosphere. Our passionate educators are deeply committed to Montessori principles, guiding each child towards independence, curiosity, and a profound respect for themselves, others, and the environment.

3 of our 5 staff member body, have received extensive training in Sri Lanka, from two lecturers who were directly mentored by Maria Montessori herself during her tenure in India. This outstanding and genuine training underscores the depth and authenticity of the educational expertise our teachers bring to the centre.

Mighty Minds Montessori House of Children offers full-day childcare and education services for children between the ages 2 to 6 years. The curriculum offered, is governed by Te Whariki, in a prepared environment comprising Montessori apparatus. The qualified and experienced Montessori teachers discharge their duties as facilitators in the classroom, always ready to assist and direct. Their role is to stimulate the child's enthusiasm for learning and to guide it, without interfering with the child's natural desire to teach him/herself and become independent. The Montessori environment meets the developmental needs of the child in a safe and caring environment guided by trained staff who will be the vital links between the child and the prepared environment.

Montessori is a way of being. Each child is in charge of his own learning and works through his individual cycle of activities, and learns to truly understand, according to his unique needs and capabilities. The child learns through his own exploration with the guidance of the adult.

The clearly - defined Montessori curriculum includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Geography, Botany, Art, gardening, carpentry and taking care of the environment, giving the child a hands-on experience to 'see' and explore abstract concepts, through the Montessori material designed with a purpose. The child has a range of indoor and outdoor activities to choose from, according to his interest.

Through constant and careful observation by the teachers, of the child's interests and discoveries, these activities will be constantly replenished so that the child has a profound repertoire of purposeful activities to choose from and uncover his/her interest.

The environment is structured in such a way to facilitate the child's independent choices of learning in a familiar, relaxed and fun atmosphere. The daily routine will foster positive relationships between the children and teachers and the children themselves, based on respect, kindness, love and sharing.
